The Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Act of 2011 (called “OSHA”) is the key legislation governing the occupational health and safety in the workplace.
The OSHA Regulation became effective on 16 August 2022, and essentially entirely revokes the previous regulations of 2006. It applies to a set of industries, listed here below. All companies with 50 or more workers (employees or full time contractors or combined) need to pay attention to the new regulations and comply accordingly.
There are also some updates to the regulations with regards the requirement for safety officers, safety committees and safety departments. If your company is on this list below, those rules apply and will include companies with 20- 50 workers.
